These are the biggest, fattest, longest tentacle Duncanopsammia Axifuga that we have ever seen! They top the ORA Duncans hands down!!! The polyps get near 2 inches in diameter when mature not including the tentacles!!! We are propagating these in our Department of Aquaculture Certified Coral Farm because of their size and beauty .
For those not familiar to Duncans: They are really easy to keep and
feed. They are a great beginner coral and will live under any lighting
conditions(from strong Metal Halides to no light at all). They will tolerate any flow conditions, but they tend to extend their polyps more in moderate to high random flow. Their tentacles
are sticky like anemones and grab on to just about anything you give them and swallow it
down quickly. We feed ours pieces of shrimp from the grocery store every other day and they are growing very well. Surprisingly, they are very peaceful. The tentacles of
the colony in our display tank brush up against our Superman Monti and
our crown jewels Favia and neither seem to be bothered!
Unfortunately, since the polyps grow so close together and the veins run deep into the stem, we lose many polyps when we frag them.
Price is per polyp! The Main Picture is of the coral open, the one at the bottom is to show what the coral looks like when closed.
The frag you will receive will be 1 polyp some will have baby polyps starting to grow but it will not be this Exact piece !
